Memory Error After Importing XDCAM Files at DVinfo.net

I run FCP on a Mac Quad Core. I input XDCAM HD files from FCP via the Sony XDCAM transfer program that runs in conjuction with FCP. I can import the XDCAM files fine. However when I return to FCP I get a out of memory error in FCP and while the mouse works the program keeps displaying the out of memory message. The work around is to exit FCP and restart the program. It's not a huge problem but it is getting to be a little annoying. Any ideas on what I'm missing? I believe I have current versions of FCP 6.0.5 and Sony Transfer 2.8.0.
