Metadata?

So, I'm logging a bunch of HDCAM footage for a feature and I am entering all of my logging data, including the reel, take, shot, etc....

I guess this isnt saving the data to the actual file, since when i pull up the files in another project, its not pulling up the metadata....not description, reel, take or anything.....

Any suggestions on what i should check?

If you export an xml of your logged clips (by shift-selecting them) you should be able to bring that xml into another project and reconnect to the media.

Of course the simple method is to open both projects and then copy and paste the clips from one project to the other. The metadata should follow.

So, this is what I did.

Logged some footage, 200 clips or so. Saved to project. Then deleted all the clips in the project and re-imported all of them. I deleted a couple of them on accident, so I wanted to get all of them in. And when I re-imported them, none of the meta data followed....so thats why i was wondering if I was missing something...

This is to be expected Derek, the only metadata generally stored in the media is Reel and Timecode, the rest of the metadata is stored in the project file. When you deleted the clips from the project file you also deleted all the logging data. Why did you delete them?
