				XL2-25p-16/9 : how capturing properly?

			Hi there,

Bought my XL2 (pal-version) in Belgium, I'm very happy with it. But I think I'm making some mistakes while capturing. I cannot drag clips from my viewer to my timeline without having to render. Although capture settings are correct... I think... I'm using FCP4... sequence preset : DV PAL 48 kHz - 24 (Use this preset when editing with DV 24 fps material conformed from 25 PAL source) capture preset : DV PAL 48 kHz (it's or this preset, or the DV PAL 48 kHz - anamorphic preset, cannot choose other) So, why do I have to render? Does the pulldown pattern plays a role in here? Now it's set to 2:3:2:3, maybe I have to change this? Or is it because I filmed with the filmgrain-function on? Can this be the reason? Would seem strange to me, no...? Thank you very much!! |

Keep in mind that the PAL camera does not have 24p. So you

cannot select that. You also cannot do 2:3:3:2 or 2:3(:2:3) pulldown since the camera does not do 24p!!! So you definitely want a PAL 25 frames per second preset! I do not know (since I do not use Mac/FCP) if you can select a PROGRESSIVE (25p) preset, but otherwise I'm sure you can set it to progressive after you've choosen a template or something.

I work with the XL2 and FCP HD, and I think I know the answer to that. |

			Okey,

so first I need to know, is there a preset DV PAL 48 kHz - 24@25? YOU HAVE TO USE THIS ONE! and not DV PAL 48 kHz - 24 for your sequence presets. |

			Hi everyone.

This is my first post and I am new to all that. I would also like to know the answer to the same question. How to capture 25P in FCP? |
