How to create Mosaic/Blur
I am shooting a video where I need to put mosaic over people's faces (like they do on Cops). Anyone know what software would do this? I edit using Final Cut HD. Thanks for any help!!

Most people use After Effects to add a mosaic mask, I've done it right in FCP 4 with the use of Joe's Filters. I copy the video I want to put the mosaic on and paste it above itself on V2, then I apply the Pixelizer filter in Joe's filters to the top video layer, and I also add a mask to it so that only the part I want mosaiced will show up. You can make the mask into either a square or round/oval shape. If you use After Effects, then you can make a more exact mask.
hope this helps.

That does help
this is one of those things that, once someone explains it to you, you think "man why didn't I think of that?" Thanks for the advice, I'll try what you've suggested!

I know it's an old post, but I found myself needing to do this effect today.
I found this site helpful - http://www.rippletraining.com/free_t...t_goodies.html 4th on-line free video tutorial down, titled "COPS". (lol). |

That's a great training link. I guess I didn't know as much as I thought I did...
