At what point do i "send to"...

i am working on a project that has two video layers and one motion graphics layer that i would like to send to color for enhancement. I am working in FCS7, should i send to color a project with 2 or more video layers and the graphic? or, do i have to bake it beforehand? Also, should i send this to "motion" for the graphics after color or before?

i am trying to keep it simplifly my workflow but obviously i am a little confused.
