Problem caputing to FCP with HDV deck! Help!

I'm trying to capture some 1080i HDV tapes for a concert I shot in HDV. The deck i'm suing is a Sony HVR-M15U. I've gone into the easy setup and set the project for HDV 1080i60. However, Final Cut Pro will not recognize the connect deck and gives an error that i cannot recognize it via Firewire. I've tried everything!

I also have 720P tapes from a JVC HD250 camcorder that I tried importing via firewire directly from the camera to my macbook pro. I'm getting the same issue as the deck! I've gone into the apple device manager. And my macbook pro recognizes the camcorder and the deck. But Final Cut Pro refuses to recognize it.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
