FCP Capture Now Recording/Digitizing

Anybody ever try to record straight to disc using capture now? I was playing around with it the other day and it seemed to work fine, but I only did a 30 minute capture. I just ran my camera in FW, put it on non-controllable device and started capture now rolling, no tape needed.

Should work fine. Also check out BTV Pro which does this plus a lot of other cool things as well:

Capture now may not pickup timecode.

If there's problems with the incoming signal, you may get audio out of sync. An example would be capturing off an Canon XL1, which records audio slightly off from 48,000khz (somewhere around 48,009khz).
