Os X Lion: Bult-in XSAN
Here's huge news for us "pro" users wanting to go to Lion:
XSAN becomes a built-in feature on OS X Lion. This is huge, as this previously required multiple licenses. For those of us running OS X Server, it will be a $49 add-on from the Apple Store. -Greg |

Re: Os X Lion: Bult-in XSAN
Yeah, I'm pleased about the XSAN in Lion.
The other OS X Lion features that might have an impact on Final Cut users: 1. Auto Save + Versioning - OS X Lion auto-saves multiple document versions in the background allowing you to revert to previous versions if needed. It has a compare feature and has a duplicate feature so you can use a previous version as a template for new documents. Hoping this works the way I want with the FCP timeline. I can see it being very useful when you're prototyping different ideas for an edit. 2. Full Screen apps - I just like the single swipe to get to another full screen app, but could be even more interesting if it allows you to swipe between two different FCP screen setups. Though, this problem might be already solved within FCP X. 3. Resume - allows you to return to your application as you left it, even if you've just updated your app or experienced a crash, assuming this works as advertised.
