boosting volume...

Can someone tell me the best way to increase volume of an audio clip? I'm using FCP 5.0, editing a wedding ceremony during the vows. There is just one 3 second spot in the bride's vows that is like a whisper. I have increased the level of the clip to the max of 12db and it still seems low (didn't help much). I tried looking in the manual for increasing volume or gain, but I haven't come up with anything. Is there an audio filter that can help me with this...that can hopefully bring up her voice and not too much background noise?
Just looking for anyone who may know the best filter or whatever to use...thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Jay,

Just double the audio track. Hols down the option and Apple keys at the same time, click and drag the tracks below the original, BUT, before releasing the tracks, release the option and Apple keys first.

Another way to do it is to drop in a compressor/limiter filter and check "on" the "preserve volume" option.
