FCP 4.5 Settings

Hey everyone. Again weird things are going on with my FCP. I was wondering that I use to drag my mouse forward and backwards in my timeline and I can see the movements in realtime. Now when I do move it, it lags and not as smooth as before. Is my sequence setting wrong? I'm using 60i Widescreen on my XL2. Thanks.

You should be capturing and setting your sequence to the "DV NTSC Anamorphic" easy preset. Take a look at these settings and then compare them to your existing clip and sequence settings. If everything is correct then you should not need to render regular video that doesn't have any effects applied to it.

You could also try the usual "catch all" procedure of trashing your preference file.

Also, make sure the preview window you are using is set to "Fit" the video so that the video doesn't have to be clipped in realtime as you scrub.

Also press "N" to turn off SNAPPING. That makes your playhead snap to each cutpoint.
