HDV footage

hi im getting ready to buy a new quad core and was wondering if anyone knew how much hard drive space do i need to edit HD footage. or would i be better just getting external hard drives and just get one 250 hard drive.

depends on how much video you'll be wanting to shoot and what you'll be doing with it. hdv takes roughly the same amount of space as dv, so allocate accordingly.

honestly, if you've got the money to burn for a quad core, you can get a pretty good external or internal raid package.
