Need help converting wmv to mov in QT

Hello, hope this is the right forum...

I just bought Flip4mac Studio Pro. I have QT Pro 6.5.2.

For a client I'm trying to import a wmv into QT Pro, convert to mov and then edit in FCP 3.0.

I opened the wmv in QT, but when I exported as a mov I get no audio and the picture seems highly interlaced.

Settings:

VIDEO
Compression: None
Depth: Millions of colors
Quality: Best
Frame Rate: 23.82
Width: 320 Height: 240

AUDIO
Format: Uncompressed
Sample Rate: 48 kHz
Sample Size: 16
Channels: 2

I also checked the 'Prepare for Internet Streaming' box (fast start).

The wmv's format was Windows Media Audio 9 Standard, Stereo, 44100 Hz; Windows Media Video 8, 320 x 240, Millions, 23.82 fps.

Are my settings ok? What am I doing wrong?

thanks,
elmer

Elmer, I left your thread here in the Mac forum since I do think it belongs here,
not in the DVD/Web forum since you are preparing for an edit, not final output.

With that being said the output framerate of 23.82 looks a bit "strange". Make
sure it is exactly the same as the original! Same goes for resolution.

If you have no audio then I would have to guess (I'm not on the Mac platform
myself) that your system cannot find the correct audio codec to decode the
audio stream.

Both MOV (QuickTime) and AVI/WMV are container formats. They either do not
use codecs (uncompressed) or need a codec to encode/decode to a certain
standard (for audio this can be mp3 for example).

It looks like whatever codec was used to encode the audio with (could be
WMA, Windows Audio, MP3, or others) your system doesn't know how to
handle.

Since I'm not on the Mac platform I can't help you with how to get the right
codec or get a better understanding of what the exact problem is.

If the file is small (enough) other people might be willing to do the conversion
for you if you can't get it to work.
