What effects do you use, for your videos... at DVinfo.net

Hi,

i was just wondering what effects programs people use for they movies (on MAC) and what can you recommend for someone new?

In general, I don't use effects unless they have a specific purpose in my videos. In an average video, I usually transition using simple dissolves and I'll usually use effects I create in motion for the intro to the video. I also use slow motion quite a bit to emphasize certain things.
