making a background at DVinfo.net

How do you create a background color in finalcut pro?
Let say I have a picture in photoshop that will make an excellent background. How would I make this my back ground rather than black? I just want a solid blue background rather than the old simple black.

Use the color matte generator. As for the photo background, you do know you can use multiple tracks, do you?
