Plug-in or setting to make voices sound over the phone?
Is there a plug-in I could get, or can someone tell me which audio filter(s) and settings I need to make a voice sound like it's coming over the phone?
Thanks, Heath

go and create a (free) account at the www.proapptips.com website
then follow this link to the downloads sections where you'll find some phone filters http://proapptips.com/tips/filemgmt/viewcat.php?cid=2 |

What are you using, FCP? Just run the audio through a basic equalizer and drop the low frequencies (and maybe play with some of the highs as well). You just want the tinny high and midrange frequencies that we associate with a telephone. No need for a special application or plugin, just a simple equalizer.

Got ya'. I clicked on that link but didn't sign up so I thought your link was to some kind of "phone effect" plugin.

If you can find something with a "high pass filter", that will probably work for you. A "high pass" does exactly what it sounds like, it allows the high frequencies to "pass through" and cuts out the lower frequencies. It should at least get you close. |
