White Balance Correction

I am using FCP to edit a 2 cam shoot. My cam looks great, but next to mine the second came has a yellow cast to it. What is the best/easiest way to color correct a bad white balance?

Dan

If you use FCP 3, use the 3 color wheel, and use high's color picker, and in the shoot just choose what is supposed to be white and that's about it.

In Final Cut Pro 3, see the separate manual "What's New in Final Cut Pro 3". There is a tutorial for exactly what you want on page 52. If you don't have the hardcopy manuals, it is also included in the Documentation folder on the FCP3 install CD as a PDF file. Actually that version may be preferable as the examples are in color. Depending on the options you chose when installing FCP3, it may have been placed on your hard drive.

I hope you did find it in the manual, otherwise

1. Choose 3 way colorcorrector
2. On the color wheel for the highs, it's the right one, choose the color picker in the left lower corner.
3. choose something that is supposed to be white in the scene, like a white wall, white shirt or similar, and click on it with the color picker, also mark which part of the scene you want to color correct otherwise it will color correct your whole movie (if captured as one big file).
