malfunction?

i followed all the directions for setting up my new Phantom, but I can't calibrate it. keeps saying the temperature is too high (it isn't)

How do I know if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's defective and needs to be returned?

is this a known problem? I did the recommended upgraded to 3.16. Is there anywhere to still find 3.14, just in case that's the problem?

Thanks

Re: malfunction?

That is a known bug with firmware 3.16.
When you get that message, you may disregard it. The advanced IMU calibration appear to continue anyway, at least for me.

IF you still choose to abort the calibration due to that error message, the gyro mod values will be way too high. To correct this, you can do a basic calibration, and after that, advanced calibration should be available again.

Notice:
After calibration (Advanced or Basic), you should do the compass calibration before first flight.

As a side note:
I have found that performing an advanced IMU calibration every 4-5 flights improve flight performance, especially when hovering.

Re: malfunction?

Also notice that during the calibration process, it is important to keep the Phantom level!
Gyro MOD values after calibration should be around 0-0.2
(Anything above that, and I do a new calibration)

Re: malfunction?

Also it may be necessary to do the compass calibrate routine several times before you get the green lights
