DJI Phantom 3
DJI released this video today:
http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3 4K (which one could see coming from a mile away), but otherwise IMHO not that different from the 2+. Curious to know the price point. We'll know next week! |

Re: DJI Phantom 3
The price of the Phantom 3 professional version is below half the price of the DJI Inspire 1 and yet contains nearly all of the new technology of the Inspire 1.
This includes the new 4k camera, the Pilot App and the new remote controller. It's also possible to live stream your footage directly to YouTube. Since buying the Inspire 1 a few months back I've missed the fact that I could just sling the Phantom in a small back pack and head out on my bike or across the countryside on foot. I have managed to strap the Inspire onto the old Phantom backpack but its not ideal. So if you like the convenience of a smaller form factor and don't want to team up with someone to handle the camera operation this seems like an excellent deal. This market place is moving so quickly that almost anything you buy will be superseded within a year. |

Re: DJI Phantom 3
I was ready to make a purchase last week but good think I waited. Now in a month or more I will be getting the phantom 3 professional. I am planning to travel to Guatemala next year and will be staying at my dad house in the a small town. I am planning to take some aerial pictures and videos.

Re: DJI Phantom 3
I would like to be able to control the camera from a second operator. Can't see how to do it with the Phantom 3. Although it uses Lightbridge as does the Inspire 1.

Re: DJI Phantom 3
I suppose a second operator could tilt up and down using the app?

Re: DJI Phantom 3
i spoke with a booth rep at DJI. I was asking about controller compatibility between Phantom and Inspire. He said you can bind an Inspire controller to the Phantom 3, but not the other way around. I toss this out there mainly for those who might own both units.

Re: DJI Phantom 3
Do you think the Phantom 3 Advanced (HD) is small/flat enough to fit in a normal trunk (between clothes)?
From May 21st untill June 7th I will be traveling in the USA for a vacation and I'm thinking of buying this toy and smuggle it into the Netherlands. I rather pay $1000 than €1200 as you can understand.
