Moving Firestore files into FCP

When I grab a whole bunch of Firestore video files and dump them in a Final Cut Timeline they do not appear in the order they were shot "by time of day". They go in at random - presumably because of the random numbering process the Firestore uses to label each shot.

So I grab each one individually and drag it over into the timeline.

This is a real pain and I've been doing it for years. Is there another solution that some ingenious soul out there has found?

Many thanks,

Harry.

(PS. Working on Final Cut 6.0.6 and Mac OS 10.5.8.)
