Equivalent of Panasonic AG-DVX100 but in HD?

Hello everyone,

This is my first post on these forums. :) But mind you, I've been lurking around and reading so... I'm not totally new!

I wonder if there's a camera out there that pretty much has the same features as the Panasonic AG-DVX100 (link: Learn about Panasonic's AG-DVX100B) while being in HD? I don't need all the features there, only the same overall quality.

Thing is, I can't spend more than the Panasonic AG-DVX100 costs, so the new version AG-HVX200, which is pretty much the same camera but boosted with HD and new features, is too expensive for my budget.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Consider the new Panasonic AVCCAM AG-HMC80:

Isn't this camera not released yet?

It's about to be released... when do you need it?

September would most probably be too late, but it's not a certitude.

It looks very interesting, thanks! Though, $2,895 is a little too much considering my budget.

The HMC150 is the real HD version of the DVX100 series cameras although it costs more than the HMC80.

Have you ever considered the HMC40? The picture quality should be about the same as the HMC80 plus it's a heck of a lot more portable. Even with the XLR adapter which is an essential purchase, it'll still be hundreds cheaper.
