Wireless HD transmission?

Does anyone know if there are any effective solutions out there to wirelessly transmit 1080p? Would need to have an HDMI input. Would prefer the thing to cost under 5k. Needs to transmit uncompressed to a live switcher.

This is well under your budget:

Introducing the PARALINX Arrow

But...once you start talking about live transmission, you need reliability and range. That sort of thing starts in the $15K range (Boxx Meridien) and quickly goes up to $50K or more. So: caveat emptor.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for - I sent them an email.

I'd look into the Teradek Bolt or the IDX Camwave. If you're okay with renting, The Boxx Meridian is probably the gold standard for wireless video transmission.

The Paralinx Arrow has the same engine as the Bolt, but it is HDMI rather than HD-SDI which fits James' needs as described. Expected performance to be about the same.

There is a new version of the Camwave from what I hear--I wouldn't recommend the old ones.

The Boxx is great (I have one myself) but I wouldn't necessarily call it the gold standard--the microwave units used for high-end broadcast have even better performance but cost a lot more (the Boxx itself is no slouch at $16K).
