The common collective knowledge that cheap HDMI cables are fine is mostly true. Actually, they test fine at short distances, but 30 feet works better with a Monster cable.

Looks like the company they talk about (monoprice.com) has some pretty good deals and some newer type HDMI 1.3 cables that are probably good up to 10-15' as well.

I've seen 6 foot cables as cheap as $6 plus shipping, but I forget the website.
And I thought $30 was a deal!
