HD not supported in Edius 5 demo?

I am able to capture footage from my XL1s no problem with the edius 5 demo but when I hook up the A1 in HDV mode all I get is a grayed out screen.
I made sure it was in generic HDV mode and used the HQ codec.
Has anyone else been able to capture A1 HD footage into Edius 5?

Make sure that your XH A1 isn't set to downconvert to SD over FireWire.

problem solved. I found a firewire port that I had installed on my kids computer about 7 or 8 years ago, ripped it out and put it in my new computer. Everything works just fine now!
