Thank you ZGC.com

I just wanted to say thanks to Christine at ZGC.com for the wonderful help in trying to find my camera. Being a newbie, I almost made the mistake of going to an online outfit that offered the XL1s for a ridiculously low price. After coming to DVINFO.NET and reading reviews, I am glad I went through ZGC, one of the sponsors.

Very friendly, delivered on time and always available if any questions.

Christine was a great help with my recent order as well. I recommend ZGC without reservation.

I've said this in other posts, but this one is appropriate.

I was shopping for an XL1S (PAL) with a warranty that would cover me while I was in the States and that would also cover me when I moved back to South Africa. I tried everyone and then I came across ZGC. Chris was polite, enthusiastic and generally on top of it. Within a day she was back to me with the answer I was hoping for. Needless to say I'm the proud owner of a new XL1S (PAL) with an International Warranty, and Chris has been getting orders from me for the last 2 weeks, and counting. And even though I have a lot of Scottish blood in me, I hand over the cash with a smile, because I know I'm getting quality products from a 1st class company.

Thanks Christine and ZGC!

I love ZGC! I have known of them for a few years now and buy form them whenever possible. If I don't buy it from ZGC it means they can't get it. I have bought a lot of gear over the years and the number one element in my satisfaction as a customer is service. I gladly pay a little more (however ZGC is competitive on most of their goods) for someone who will take care of me. How often have any of you gone out and bought from large mail order companies and been treated like a second class citizen when you want to return something. Chris and Barbara are two of the nicest people I have EVER delt with in the production world. They really want to help you and are interested in keeping you as a customer. When I call them I feel like I am calling up one of my buddies. Can't say enough about them. I encourage anyone and everone who is in this business to give them a try--you won't be sorry.

ditto on ZGC!

I also worked with Christine. She worked some magic to make up for some backlogged stock. I compared their prices to others, they definitely are very competitive. Competitive prices, quality service from people who care, and support for this community forum; what else can you ask for!

Mention Chris Hurd and they'll take some dollars off for you.

Jay Thompson July 26th, 2002 07:26 AM

I agree 100%

I (very reluctantly after dealing with all the bait and switch swindle meisters in NY) looked into ZGC for my xl1s and equipment. I was VERY satisfied with the prices and the service was absolutely top-notch. If I ever go anywhere else to pick up an item it will be because they can't get it.

An extra special thanks to Christine for putting up with my MANY emailed questions and the hand holding in explaining differences in some items. They have a customer for life!

If you are reading this, thanks again Christine and ZGC!

Second Round Kudos

After purchasing another camera from ZGC I can only reaffirm the observations I made to start this thread. (Really) Terrific price. Terrific service. Terrific people.

If you're planning to purchase a new camera or significant accessories you really owe it to yourself to give ZGC a call first. Discussing such a purchase with Christine or Mizell is a far nicer experience than just clicking that Submit button.

And, hey, when was the last time that B&H sent you a t-shirt or hat...yeah, in your dreams sky boy. Not to knock them; they are a staple for stuff and a good outfit. But, really,...

I live and work in Amsterdam and i own a canon xl1, prices here are much more expensive then the States so i was looking for a good dealer across. ZGC and specially its representative Cristine was very attentive, made me a good deal and delivered the goods first class! I never bought anything over internet (because you cannot see what you are buying) But i spend over a thousand dollars on goodies and payed through paypal. They are my favorite for new purchases!!
i wish they would know what service means in Holland, like i got it there. By the way, Cris hope to see you in Amsterdam this year at the IBC!

ZGC rules!!!!!!!!!! Chris is the best salesperson in the world!

ZGC - Christine

Firstly thanks to DVINFO for finding me ZGC. I haven't bought or promised to buy a single thing from ZGC and Christine has been just amazing. Although for this canuck it means a little trip south-east it will be more than worth it.

Ken Tanaka April 22nd, 2003 04:07 PM

They really are good people, Frank. I've made many purchases from them and had nothing but good experiences. Super support, super service. We're very proud to have them as one of our sponsors here.

THANKS for GREAT advice!!!

Thank you soooo much to the folks who "chimed in" so quickly with advice. I've been on the phone all morning with Canon, Chris at ZGC (AWESOME gal!!!) and a few other folks. Coming close to a decision and will absolutely be a lifetime customer at ZGC. God Bless and many peaceful video shoots ahead! :-) Roze

Chris @ ZGC

What a woman! Every company needs one of these girls to run the show.

I write her, call her and her is always the same great her.

Her never forgets ya and her never forgets your order.

Her goes out of the way to be her. Just a fantastic person to do business with.

Cheers to Chris!

Keith Loh May 13th, 2003 10:38 AM

I echo this compliment. ZGC gave me great service when I bought my mic and Beachtek.

Chris Hurd May 13th, 2003 10:42 AM

She is awesome. The whole staff there is great, but she's their secret weapon.

Matt Stahley May 15th, 2003 01:28 PM

I will agree as well.I just purchased a mic setup from Chris @ ZGC and they bring nothing but excellent service and pricing to the table.thanks ZGC and DVinfo!

Roze Ann May 26th, 2003 05:05 PM

Amazing how a terrific personality and a little "chat chat" can go such a looongggg waaayyy. Wish other companies would figure it out. Chris you are "the bomb" gal. Can't wait to buy something else from you (although my hubby is dropping sweat as this is written :-)

Ken E. Williams June 4th, 2003 01:00 PM

I have to echo the previous positive comments about Chris & ZGC. In multiple dealings with Chris, the service that I have received is superb - fast, courteous and very helpful. Kudos to ZGC for their good prices too. I wholeheartedly recommend Chris and the efficient ZGC team to others!

BTW Buying from ZGC is a much more pleasurable experience than dealing with a certain NY Photo/Video store. Thanks to Chris Hurd for bringing ZGC to our notice and for arranging sponsorship of the excellent resource.

Christine? An Angel!

I feel the need to pipe up. I recently made a purchase from ZGC and yes, Christine is everything you guys say she is. Beat competitors prices, worked out cost glitches and had it at my doorstep in a little over 24 hours. The only way I won't make any purchases through her and ZGC is if they don't have what I'm looking for. Since they are a Canon retailer, that chance seems slim. Yes, stick with her.

Charles French June 6th, 2003 01:02 PM

Let me add to this. She had to special order something for me. She had it within 2 days and personally gave me a phone call to let me know it had been shipped. All this for a $30 order. Talk about service with a smile. tks Chris

I concur

This will be my second post about Chris: She takes care of the regulars, is a straight shooter, is way beyond fair and sticks to her word besides offering incredible prices. What ZGC doesn't carry, I take care of at B & H. Both companies are a Godsend.

Jim Sofranko July 8th, 2004 04:09 PM

Chris did me very right this week as she sent me a Nebtek monitor delivered on set by 9am after ordering it at about 1pm the previous day. Not only that but it was my first (and not my last) purchase with them. She was great and completely followed through on it!

Tim Brown July 23rd, 2004 02:13 PM

They are awesome!

Just placed a modest order with Chris and Barbara and they were exceptional. Not only in their knowledge of their products, but their customer service was beyond any I have ever experienced. Amazing.

Thanks Chris for finding such great sponsors!

Agreed, recently bought a Mini35 and DVX100a through them. Great purchase and follow-up. Kudos.

Jacques Mersereau August 22nd, 2004 10:00 AM

The U of M just bought three DVX100a kits. Assuming they will arrive,
we got the best price and great service from ZGC inc.

Nathan Quattrini June 28th, 2007 04:07 PM

Well lets continue it then....Christine did an awesome job helping me out, getting me an A1, and firestore (replaced after a few weeks when it went caput). Rock on christine! And ZGC!

Mark Sasahara September 18th, 2007 07:41 PM

Chris and ZGC have been excellent. Chris was very helpful and looked for ways to cut me a good deal when I bought my XL2 and a whole bunch of other gear a couple of years ago.

She's the best!

Kevin Janisch September 21st, 2007 01:52 PM

I got my XL1s and then my XL2 from Chris at ZGC with no problems whatsoever. The first XL2 they sent me had a faulty eject switch (only worked half the time) upon which they immediately exchanged it for a new one. Highly recommended.

Charles Papert September 24th, 2008 10:36 AM

After nearly 7 years of enthusiastic reviews of Chris at ZGC this thread is still going, which should tell you something!

I recently put my Mini35 up on the market along with some custom parts that I had made for it. I wanted to have it fully checked and tweaked so I contacted Chris to have it sent in for service. She offered to broker the sale for me and have ZGC act as an intermediate, at no charge. Truly amazing support for used gear, considering that they are in business to sell new gear!

They hosted the checkout for the buyer, which was extensive; the sale went perfectly and the check was on its way to me the same day.

Again, this was over-and-above service. It's not like I'm a regular customer, can't even remember if I've bought anything from them outside of the Mini and a DVX some four+ years ago, but this is the kind of business they run. Really impressive.

Thanks again Chris and Co.!
