ATEM 4K switcher workflow

Ok. Has anyone tried this? Wondering about multicam switch with 4K recording.

Camera:
Blackmagic Design Production Camera 4K
The BMD camera puts out 6G-SDI (x1).

Switcher:
Blackmagic Design ATEM Production Studio 4K Live Switcher
The switcher takes SDI 3840 x 2160p 23.98/24/25/29.97/30.

Recorder: Connected to a computer:
Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Thunderbolt 2
SDI Video Input 2x 10-bit SD/HD/Ultra HD/4K (2D/3D switchable) 4K and 1080p formats supported

Any other recorder options? I prefer not to record with a computer.

Re: ATEM 4K switcher workflow

I know that large sensor and 4K cameras are used for multicam productions but the switched master is usually 1080. The live or webstream is usually 1080. The cameras record to onboard media and that is where the RAW or 4K or large files are. There really is no reason to have a switcher 4K master... Right?

I know someone probably said this exact thing here on this forum 10 years ago about using the Sony HVR-Z1U and running the composite out to a switcher because no one would EVER need an HD switched master...

Re: ATEM 4K switcher workflow

I haven't SEEN the combination hooked up but for a 4k recorder, I'd look at the ATOMOS Shogun for 4k recording of the output from the 4k switcher.

When it starts shipping, that is...
