				HDV and TC?

Does the HDV format or gear support TC in any way shape or form?

<<<-- Originally posted by Martin Munthe : Does the HDV format or gear support TC in any way shape or form? -->>> The following does not answer your question directly, but describes an operational 'work-around' that I tried on a Mac: 1) Captured complete HDV tapes, with a continuous TC, using DVHSCap. That results in a TC that is a slightly time-shifted version of the TC that the camcorder displays. 2) Converted that to QT.mov and dropped that into an FCP bin as my 'master-clip' stand-in for my HDV tape. 3) Logged and made 'sub-clips' from my 'master-clip' using FCP. This reverses the usual 'log and capture' routine, but still documents the relationship between your working FCP TC and the camcorder's TC. I hope there is a better way!
