how to setup a HDV editing machine from the begining
hello there,
My HD10u just arrived. i Had a lot of softs and everything setuped before i re-installed and format my whole system. now, even after installing Vegas 5 and Premiere Pro with the DEMO for Aspect Hd, i just can capture anything from the HD10, i cant even capture from my old trv sony anymore. I dont know what to do, cant find the drivers and the device propely... so im asking, what to do to setup a machine to edit in HDV from the beginning? ciao |

Daniel,
Have you been able to install the JVC HD capture utility that came with the camera? I find it pretty reliable as the capture step for PC. |

The fact that your DV camera (as well as your HDV camera) is not working suggests your drivers for your Firewire IEEE1394 controller are confused. To fix this go into the "My Computer"->Manage->Device Manager and uninstall the IEEE1394 controller. Then reboot. XP should automatically find your IEEE1394 as new hardware and re-install it. You should then test your old DV camera first. Once that is working go through the crazy JVC Tape Device install proceedure (in the manual.)
