DVD authoring questions

Ok I have to burn a DVD. I have encore, vegas and I was thinking of buying TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress . I have two hours of footage to burn to a single dvd. I need help with which program to use and which setting will give me the best results. My file is a CFHD 24p file.

I was told vegas does a good job of encoding to DVd format but I'm unsure of what settings to use for 2hours of footage. So any information you guys are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Overall the results between the Main Concept encoder used in Vegas and the tmpgenc encoder used in Xpress are about the same in quality and speed. Xpress gives you some extra control since it's an encoder and Vegas is primarily an NLE.

Actually I just noticed you said "authoring." That would make Vegas the better choice since Xpress is for encoding, not creating DVD file structures.
