HDV Logging Software
Another question with no easy answer...
I used to use Tepx Gold edition to log dvcam footage and it worked surprisingly well (once you figured out that their EDLs were not exactly perfect). Well years have gone by and I'm now working with a lot more HDV footage. Is there a reasonable logging software option out there now? I see that there is a mac based version of tepx (HD Logger) that is built specifically for P2. It appears that the only way to bring in HD footage is via RS422 (which I haven't messed with since old betacam days). Since I'm shooting with an Sony Z1U, it's obviously a tape-based acquisition until our 60gb harddrives come in. I must have a good software program for logging (without image capture is fine). These companies must believe there is a market for logging software across platform. OR If someone could explain to me how capturing footage into final cut and then shooting out timecode onto a vhs I'd appreciate it.
