JVC GYHD100U 24p or 23.976

I run a JVC GYHD100U

I supplied some footage for a project that required the frames be dumped and worked off of in that regard. I am being told that the footage supplied is not 24p but it is 23.976.

Is it possible that the footage coming out of the 100U is 23.976 or has something happened while converting in Vagas?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. I had read on the net similar things. Does that mean that editing between 24p and 23.976p is all the same?

Would it cause frames to not line up in the end. We are motion tracking the shot so any frames that are out will cause sliding and jitter in the track.

Also does this mean that the camera is true 24p it is just editing systems will convert it to 23.976?

Thanks

the camera really runs at 23.976. working as designed. PITA when using HMI's on magnetic ballasts & flo lights also on mag ballasts as you will get flicker and have to shutter at 1/60th as the camera doesn't have a 1/40th shutter which would be closer in look to the default 1/48th. 1/60th can increase judder to objectionable levels.
