I know theres a whole thread on it but its getting a bit confusing. 2 questions. Does anybody have this? Is it clean? How much image do you gain? o.k. 3 questions.

Hi Randy

As one of those responsible for confusing the thread, some simple answers:

1: Yes, I have this convertor it. I never take it off my lens.

2: Yes, it is clean - certainly better than you would expect for 500 bucks worth of glass.

3: The simple answer; It will give you almost 20% (18%, to be precise) more width in your picture.

This is the JVC sheet on the standard lens:

http://www.jvc-pro.net/docs/pdf/prohdlense.pdf

According to that, the angular field of view of the standard lens at it's widest setting is 51 degrees. With the JVC WCV82SC adaptor you will go out to an angular field of view of 62.2 degrees (51 degrees divided by 0.82).
