Gy hd100u

Still looking for a few items for this camera. One is a windsock to fit the original on-camera mic. Know where to get one?

Thank you.

Re: Gy hd100u

I found a few on EBay for the 7 to 8 dollar price. They're accessory wind socks not JVC "branded" but the JVC and Sony are the same or at least appear to be the same. When I put my cameras back together to sell I had a Sony mic on my JVC HM100 and the JVC on my Sony PD170. They looked identical.

Here's one for you. Foam Windscreen for Sony ECM NV1 ECM XM1 ECM CG1 JVC GY HD200 GY HD201 GY HD250 27242773257 | eBay

Re: Gy hd100u

Hi Don,

Thanks a bunch. I see this one is in China and will be a long wait for it to arrive. I'll have to see if there is one similar but in the US.

Thanks for letting me know a Sony one will fit :)

Much appreciated.

Re: Gy hd100u

You should be able to find one without going to China. I thought I had an extra one but I couldn't find it. Worst case...go to a fabric store. The big ones sell foam and you could make one if need be.

Re: Gy hd100u

Hi Don,

Thanks for checking for the extra one though.

Somehow just the front round area of mine went bad. The rest of it is intact. Never thought about making one. Might have too if I don't find another. Don't like my windscreen having the front part missing. Next shoot I'm actually going to be using a handheld mic to shoot interviews but bugs me with my windscreen being deteriorated.

Re: Gy hd100u

If your concern is just the aesthetics, you can find a sponge piece that would fit, but it's completely useless when shooting outside and the wind blows... so for outside you will need something like a Rycote Softie: Rycote For Mics 19-22mm Diameter | B&H Photo Video

Re: Gy hd100u wind screen

Thank you for the link. I will check into that. Meanwhile, if you hear of one like the original one from JVC, let me know.
