Dr-hd100

Hello all! just thought ide let you alll know just got the JVC hard drive in
last week. Wow!! works great!! i was impressed eerything triggered to
the camera just as they said it would. Im doing a couple of more test
runs with it tonight before i start work on my new short film. Wish me luck
all.

Also, do you have to have a tape in the camera in order to use the firestore drive?

Steven, you can trigger it direct or via slave very awsome recorder i will say
no dropped frames what a dream:)

What is the battery life like with the included battery and what is the replacement battery / addtional battery?

battery life

the battery life is terrible from what i heard only used it briefly. As I use anton bauer
hytron 120 battery exclusively for most of my work.

Just to make sure I understand - The HD Recorder battery is horrible or are you talking about the JVC GY-HD100 stock bettery (As we know that is bad)?

jvc camera batery and the drhd 100

I guess i shouldnt say both are horriable its just the length in time they hold a charge isnt that great. sorry for the confution.

I am curious about using the DR-HD100 with external power from Anton Bauer power tap. It's always an issue using 14.4 v with many devices so I don't know if it would work or not. The stock DR-HD100 battery is a small lithium batt that snap into the back of the unit. Much like a cell phone batt does.

Have not tested the life yet.

I am also interested if DR-HD100 can be plugged into Anton Bauer's battery. The manual says nothing about it, but 90 min. of working time is just not enough for us. Other firestore drives can be powered this way though, so maybe there is hope.

Ok, I found on Anton Bauer's website that they have a special cord and a special mount for the thing:
