HDV Decks for HD100

Hey guys,
How is that jvc HDV deck for the Hd100? Is it possible to use another mini-dv cam as a deck/recorder?

Until I had to send back last week for repairs it was a great deck for the two months. It started to reject tapes as "defective" even though the tapes work perfectly on other machines.

The deck is physically sturdy (while the internal software seems to be a little lacking) and it does away with the need for a remote to access the menu functions.

To play back JVC HDV into a computer you must have a JVC HDV deck or the HDV camera. The Sony HDV deck will play JVC HDV only on the analog outputs. JVC HDV decks will not play any sort of Sony or Canon style HDV.
