Fujinon TH13X3.5

In the unlikely event that I could suddenly afford the Fujinon TH13X3.5, would this lens give me that much of a better image if I primarily shoot interviews? I zoom in from a distance to throw the background out of focus. Would the merits of the wider lens be lost by zooming in that much?

Thanks.

You wouldn't be taking advantage of the wide end of this lens, but it does have other features. There would be less chromatic abberation, and the resolved image would be sharper overall.

If I were only doing interviews I probably wouldn't invest in it. However, I've found the wide lens to come in very handy when shooting supporting b-roll for documentaries.

That's kind of what I figured. Thanks. Now all I need is a boatload of money.
