Based on the press releases, the 200 is only 300 usd less than the 250 when you exclude a lens? Is that a misprint?
On the windows side, Cineforms HD link does a realtime 180 flip during capture. I think DvRack offers it too. |
In reference to this new device, is arri pl mount and pl mount considered the same?
Went back to the url listing and they changed the price... "The suggested list price for the GY-HD200U camcorder equipped with a Fujinon 16x lens is $8,995. The camcorder is also available without a lens as the GY-HD200CHU with a suggested list price of $7,995. Delivery of both camcorders is in late November. The suggested list price of the HZ-CA13U is $4,395 and delivery is expected to begin in December 2006." Makes more sense now:). |
Check this out: HD200 with 16mm DOF adaptor and PL prime are almost the same length as HD200 with kit lens.
Nowhere near to HD200 with M2 attached :)... As a set of six Optar Illumina T1.3 super 16mm primes cost less than $8000 it`s getting really iteresting for indies. Cheers, T |
I wonder how will the lightloss and bokeh will be with this lens adaptor?
How`s about getting rid of the dust as PL mount is quite deep it won`t be easy to clean any protective glass inside the adaptor One uncommon thing about this lens adaptor is the absence of relay lens iris so for depth of field control one definetly needs a matte box with additional ND filters. Any footage or stills from the prototype yet? T |
I may well be wrong as to the technology but in general terms at least, this would not be the first time JVC has visited this idea.
There were two cameras, heads only, not camera/recorders, Model KY-F50 which enabled a 1/3" CCD to see a "C-Mount" lens as if it was a 2/3" CCD, Model KY-F32 which enabled a 1/3" CCD to see a B3 mount lens as if it was a 1/2" CCD. |

Are prices getting higher because of the upcoming JVC adapter? :) Carlos |

Looking at the high-rez pictures it's hard to believe there's no ground glass since it seems to have a relay lens on the end. For sure a back focus of some sort, which makes me think it's a relay. If there's a relay there's a GG. It's looking like a 16mm version of the Cinemek with a relay to me. But 4 grand? If it indeed doesn’t have a GG it better really keep the same FOV and DOF of S16mm or else… |
I just don't know why they put a PL mount on it instead of C mount.
It makes absolutely no sense! |
4 grand? hmm definitely not worth it to me. {BAH}, I'm disappointed now.

A brande new Mini35 cost a little under 11k. But used ones can be had on the 4-5k range. The old 300 series for even less. I wonder why didn't they just make a straight PL mount adapter instead of this gizmo. At least it would be cheaper. Who wants a Mini16 for 4k? |
|
OK, yes I guess I was only aware of the PRO35 pricing. Even so, the mini35 is around 10Gs with all the pieces you'd have to buy to connect it to the HD100 and a lens mount. eBay might be cheaper. The mini35 rig is very different though as far as weight and length, the 16mmm JVC adapter looks to me much more manageable with a 16mm prime lens. (think hand held shots or tight corners, portability, etc.) If it's as good as the mini35 in terms of what it gives you and it's in the same price range I'd opt for the HZ-CA13U.

Thanks for the pics. That adapter looks pretty fancy. I can't wait to get one for my hd200. |
