Chrosziel Mattebox mounting

I finally got a mattebox for this HD200. Actually, I just got two. Both Chrosziels - one a used "sunshade", and one the full on mattebox. I'll get to why two in a minute, but fist I'd like to ask if anyone has successfully dealt with Chrosziel's rails system not lining the mattebox up with the lens right. Although the rails system is adjustable on the shoe bracket, no adjustment gets the box even close to where it needs to be. I'd say it's about a half inch off. The rails mount to the top of the shoe, properly. You can tell because the bolt holes have recessed cutouts on the bottom of the shoe, which suggests they screw-UP (not, that they're screwed up ; ). That's also the way the system came - assembled. But my guess is if I mount the rails on the bottom of the shoe instead, that will give me the half inch lower that I need.

Am I crazy and I missed something totally obvious, or has anyone else been through this already?

As for the second mattebox, I purchased it as part of a set - for the library of filters that came with it. It's properly called a "Sunshade" by Chrosziel, but it's a late model and these models accept side flags as well. I just posted it in the classified section HERE on DVinfo.net.
