I have never had any problem with either of my 2 cameras, both with AT875 mics, picking up noise from the camera. I think this worry is overblown.

Thanks Dan for the update - decided to buy the AT mic and it arrived without the cable. Looking at the box contents then this is normal for the UK supplied ones at least.

Sadly the cable for the JVC mic is hard wired to the standard mic so I will have to either make a cable or buy one custom made from somewhere.

Really want to try the mic but gonna have to wait!
