best prices on Tapes for the HD1/10 ?

My previous Camera was a Canon GL1 there was a rumor about the GL1 not very tape friendly and everybody was suggesting to use the same tape brand, possibly Panasonic.
I bought in the past many Panasonic DV (I was very happy with them) and I used them on the HD1 now that I don't have the GL1 anymore.
I try to use tapes only once so I can always go back and pick-up the old material. The HD1 has been pretty good on reading my GL1 material as well.
Now I'm running out of tapes, as I previously wrote I'm goin in Africa for a Safari so I want to bring many tapes with me and I wish to have a single brand. Anybody can suggest me the tape with the best price/performance on the HD1/10 and where to buy them?

Thanks
Gabriele

Hi Gabriele,

This site's sponsors will give you reliable service at decent prices.

I just ordered 100 tapes from totalmedia.com and I got an excellent deal. The tapes arrived yesterday and I (well really my client) saved a lot of money.

The tapes are Fuji DVM60s. I've had good experience with them in PD150s and my old Canon XL1s. I can't yet say how good they are in the HD10, but I'm about to find out. I can report my experience next month when I return from my shoot in Turkey.

I've seen drop-outs in other brands of tape but I haven't seen any on Fujis.

Never had problems in 5+ years.

ps-I'm moving this to the tape forum, so you can get more suggestions!

pss-Don't forget, if you use one tape for the camera, stick with it.
