different brand cleaning tape?? at DVinfo.net

I know that it is not recommended to mix tapes. Does this also apply to cleaning tapes? I have just got a used cam which the previous owner used panasonic tapes. I want to run sony.

So, I went to the shops today and could only find TDK or JVC cleaning tapes. I have been warned off TDK so I picked up the JVC. Is it alright to clean it with the JVC and then run sony? I went to MANY stores in my area and these are the only brands I could find.

Maybe I'm just paranoid..........

In my experience, there's been no difference in cleaning tape brands. I shoot Panasonic tapes but clean with a Sony (it was the only cleaner I could find at the time).
