Another vote for a Gopro/POV forum.

Digital Single Lens Reflex video got going after CS4's release (the Canon 5d wasn't released until 6 weeks after CS4 was...) So, you need CS5...or MPEG Streamclip to convert for CS4... |
Thanks
for that Tim. Story of my life....one step behind the 8 ball..... :)
MPEG streamclip it'll be!!!! Al |
My vote is for a generic forum for POV cameras. I use the Sony and the Contour cameras.

I think most of us love GoPros because they're so inexpensive that you can do crazy stuff with them without worrying about their possible destruction...and yet GoPro sells all the parts to rebuild them too... However, I'm still curious about the other options...a GoPro would not be appropriate in some situations where a higher-end camera with more lense control, etc, would be needed. |
The Panasonic POV camera that I am testing, has an amazing amount of controls that are not present on the GoPro. Things like a power remote zoom lens, zebras, 24p, manual WB, etc. The Panasonic camera really seems to have all of the controls you would have on a camera like the HMC-150, but in a POV camera form factor, it is pretty impressive.
The only thing I can't figure out is the size, the head is pretty large, about the size of most SD card popular palmcorders. And it is not waterproof like the GoPro. So the Panasonic at least, fills a totally different niche than the GoPro. As it should be. Dan |
Hey Mods..... We ask.... do we receive???
So it seems that most of us here have some type of POV/GoPro/Fixed-Focus camera. Why not keep our discussion here at a place we love and trust the members? Mods.....??????

Chris, I think a HD gopro/POV forum is the best solution. If Gopro dies off (which I doubt) just revert to POV
|
Anxious awaiting the new forum ;-)
|
If GoPro ever releases a POV cam with 24p native i'm buying 3.
|
How about a suction cup, a ball head mount and a Canon S95?
CCD and up to 30 minutes of 720p24! I can't wait to put mine to work as a POV camera If only there was a forum we could discuss this more in! |
Right now I'm using a Flip Mino HD as a POV cam. Those GoPro's look pretty slick, but the Flip is actually pretty decent all things considered. I've seen some pretty impressive work done with them. It'll suffice me until GoPro makes a 24p cam.
|
The GoPro, as cool as it is, isn't the only game in town. There are so many options for rigging small cameras with the various mounts available, that a general POV camera group would make a lot of sense.

Would love to see a GoPro/POV forum here at DV Info so you have my vote.
|
Same here: I would like to share my GoPro experience with other users or potential users.
