Bogen Monopod Question

http://www.4videoequipment.com/video...d+Head+Monopod

I want to mount my bogen 503 head on top of that then my xha1 on top of the 503, is this practical?

i'm wanting to do this for the sake of overhead shots.

Not practical. I have a simple monopod I like for certain uses. I took it to Europe when space was tight. For overhead shots, use a jib or long legs. I have an old set of Bogen legs that extends to over 7 feet for overhead shots.

Monopod Suggestion

Julian,

Yes it is possible. I have a 560 Monopod and just took the head off, added a 1/4-3/8 adapter and then attached the 503 head. Works great!

Thanks, Jon!!

May I ask where you purchased that 1/4-3/8 adapter, or if you happen to know the model/manufacturer of the piece?

Thanks again.

Julian,

Just called B&H Photo and they have it in stock.

edit: Make sure to carry a small pair of pliers with you as this adapter tends to get stuck.

FWIW: Many Bogen/Manfrotto monopods have dual 1/4” - 3/8” camera fixing screw. You might not need an adapter. See:
