After 2 hours of recording my HD1 starts boiling...

Hello everyone,

I am very glad I found you people. This forum is just great.

Here's my question:

A few times a was recording the Jewish High Society meeting, which lasts many hours. I realized that my brand new HD1 started to get warmer and warmer. And after around 2 hours of recording this thermometer sign appeared on the screen and I really thought my HD1 is about to blow up. The cam got so hot that I couldn't even touch the cover anymore. The camera was on the docking station, getting the battery constantly charged through the power supply. I directly turned off the camera and it cooled down after many hours. Did anyone experience the same thing? Is this camera just not made for non-stop use? Or should I just ignore the thermometer on the screen?

Thanks in advance.

You are the second person I've read report such issues. The other recorded 4 hours, 2 after the warning light arose.

I've recorded 2.2 hrs at 640X without the warning light, but the unit did get hot. I don't think the internal cooling system is made for such long sessions.

Sorry, I just discovered the other thread. My questions are answered by now.

It's just that I am new here and didn't know how to use the search function...
