Nexto 2500 not recognising MxR Cards

Have just taken delivery of a Nexto 2500. It copies SxS cards rapidly but sees MxR with good Transcend 16gb(2008) cards as unrecognised media. It reads the SDHC card when removed from the adaptor and placed in unit SDHC slot. BTW I can see this unit will solve backup storage brilliantly when having to travel light.

This is normal. The interface protocol used by the MxR is different from the one used by SxS cards. You need to take your SD card out in order to read it in the NVS2500. Same applies to a PC with Express Card slot, it wont read a SD card in a MxR adaptor.

Thanks, to confirm the Nexto has no problems copying the SDHC card recorded in the MxR when using SDHC slot.

Does the same thing apply to the MxML adaptors, the NVS2500 doesn't recognise them?

Yes, same thing applies. The express card slot has two types of internal connection, PCI express and USB. On the NextoDI the PCI express interface is used for SxS type cards as opposed to the USB type connection that the MxR, MxM, Hoodman and even the Sony adapters use. The PCI express interface is what gives the NextoDI its high speed transfer ability.

Re: Nexto 2500 not recognising MxR Cards

NextoDI shall release new firmware before May for NVS2500.
This firmware supports SxS adapter which is using USB portion of ExpressCard I/F.
This includes
1) SDHC to SxS adapter from SONY
2) MxR and simmilar adapter

The Wise SxS card has compatibility issue at this moment.
This USB based memory card behave very strange during file copy and makes error.
We'll try to solve this compatibility issue at later firmware release.
