Best suggestion to focus with the Nikon d7000
 
Could you tell me what's the workflow to focus with the nikon D7k?

i meant did u use any kind of focus assist? Did you digital zoom in the LCD area or what?

So we're talking video here. Do not use the autofocus, you'll regret it at the worst time. So, manual focus it is. I use the when I can otherwise I just use the LCD. No digital zoom. I'd consider a rig and follow focus if I got more into it but for now I just use the Canon XA10 for videos and the D7000 for high-res photos and exposure bracketing some shots that I need later in post. I have the d5100 which has a lot in common with the d700. I use push to auto-focus all the time. About half the time I do this with facial recognition, the other half I do it with the moveable focus box. Works great either way. Here is an in progress project that was all push to auto fcused:


Shot in AP mode with exposure lock assigned to a button.
