Laptop external HD?

Hi, I have a laptop with Premiere on it. Is it possible to get an external HD to store all my work on? I realise laptops r supposed to b portible but I keep it at home. Is there a maximum storage space I can have if it is possible?

I use a laptop as a 2nd machine and have a 120gig FWHDD going to it. It works fine.
XP Pro,512 ram,40gig systemHDD,Vegas4,Excalibur. You know the usual suspects of software. I used this in Hawaii for a 10 day gig there and captured lots of footage and made a 6 minute highlight package for showing there. Got home took the FWHDD hooked up to my desktop and only had to capture an additional 4 hours. BAM! I love it!
BTW, you can hook up (daisychain) up to 63 FW devices. I wouldn't but...

I have 3 running on both my desktop and laptop.
It does work!
