I was wondering what kinda setups you guys were running hardware wise.... i've heard that all kinds of different settings are "the best way to go" ..... So if you guys could list your setups and what you'd suggest i'd appreciate it

Ok here we go

PC 1 Video Machine

Intel Pentium 4 2.4C @ 3.2
Abit IT7 Max2 V.2
1 Gig Corsair Xtreme Matched PC3200 Ram
Matrox G550 Dualhead Videocard
Matrox RT2500 Realtime card
M-Audio Delta Audiophile 24/96 Audio card
20 Gig IBM System Drive
2 120 Gig WD 8meg drives in RAID 1
Pinoneer Slot load DVD-Rom drive
Sony Dual format DVD Burner
Antec 1080AMG Case
Antec 430 watt Powersupply
Windows XP Pro Servicepack 1

This machine runs Premiere, Aftereffects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

PC 2 Audio Machine

Intel Pentium 4 2.4B @ 3.06
Abit BE-7
1 Gig Geil PC3200 Ram
Abit Siluro OTES Geforce 4200 64meg
Soundblaster Audigy Platium
M-Audio Delta Audiophile 24/96
2 60 Gig Maxtor drives
Toshiba DVD-ROM drive
Lite-On 52x CD Burner
Antec 1080 Case
Antec 400 watt Power Supply

This sytem runs Cubase SX, Wavelab, Reason, and Ulead Cool3D

Periphs
2 17" KDS Monitors Flat CRT
1 19" Iiyama Monitor Flat CRT
Logitech Keyboard
Logitech MX700 Mouse
Countour Shuttle
Wacom 4x5 tablet
JVC SVHS editing deck
Sony DSR-45 DV Deck
Sony Umatic SP Deck (go ahead laugh)
Mackie 1402 Mixer

I am really happy with this setup. I love having 2 PCs to split my workload. That way while the Vid PC renders, I can work on the audio on the other PC.
The only thing I would like to add to this is a Storage server with about 720 gig of space. Its just easier to work with unified storage. I find that I spend too much time organizing and searching for files.

Also I plan to update the RT2500 to the RTX100 and I will be adding a ATI FireX1 to the Video machine....I love the 2D of the G550 but now that AE6 will support OpenGL I want something that has some power.

Opps The RAID array is Mode 0 (stripped) not Mode 1 (mirrored).
