HP ze4547wm Constant Reboot ?

Lately my HP ze4547wm Laptop has been acting up - it reaches the Windows XP loading screen then the screen goes blank (sometimes loading the dreaded blue screen) and shuts down returning it to the beginning of its boot cycle. If left alone it would repeat that boot cycle constantly. However occasionally the boot screen would appear and I would choose to start windows with the last best known configuration. Once Windows actually loads the error screen would show up with these numbers:

BBCode:1000007f
BCP1: 00000008
BCP2: 80042000
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 00000000
OSVer: 5_1_2600
SP: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I have actually tried formatting and restoring the system several times with the Restore CDs... still no luck. After windows stays on for a while everything begins to get sluggish and it will crash then the reboot cycle will start again.

Thoughts anyone?

Sounds like either mobo or hard drive problems - I had an old IBM laptop acting very similarly.

I'd be more inclined to think it is a memory problem. BSODs generally reflect memory issues. You might want to pop out some of the memory and try again and see if it works better. If it is a memory issue, there's a possibility that your re-install of the OS might have been corrupted by the bad memory.

It is also likely that you have a mobo problem with an intermittent connection/short. That gets a bit more difficult to diagnose and repair.
