DV Capture in Windows 2000
I was sucessfully using Windows 98SE with my firewire capture card and Sony TRV230E camera. I had to load the DirectX8.0 patch for DV to get it to work but after that all was ok.
I have moved to Windows 2000, and just can't get it working. Capture is using ULead VideoStudio 4, and I get the captrue working for about 30 seconds but then a few frames with artifacts come up and then the link to the camera is lost with a "DV device missing or tape has been removed" message. Have tried with both Direct X8.0 (patched) and 8.1. Does anyone have any ideas? Kind regards Andrew |

First of all, go the Windows Update via the link on your start menu and dl all the service packs and updates. This might fix your problem.

What kind of firewire card do you have? It sounds like either
this one is causing a problem (wrong or buggy drivers?) or the ulead package is under windows 2000. Make sure both your card and the ulead package are okay with windows 2000. Not everything is (still).
