Help
I have been capturing video from my sony dig cam to my sony vaio computer for four years, with great results. This month, the dvgate motion and dvstill software, recognize the camera and in fact control it, but I can't get any video. I have tested my firewire and camera on another computer and they check out. I installed a new PCI firewire card (didn't help). Of course, I uninstalled and reinstalled both applications. Sony support wasn't much help; they say to reformat my hard drive back to original setting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Any chance it could be your firewire cable? Did you use your or
another cable on the other computer? Do you get any warnings or error messages? Can you try the demo of Scenalyzer to see if it can capture anything?

I had a similar problem. It turns out that My Zonealarm firewall was blocking it. Do you use a firewall? If so just turn it off.
